Tuesday, 11/12/13
Mission Statement: Get new members acquainted with the iGEM program and present the different opportunities/jobs associated with the program
Meeting Overview: We talked about what iGEM is and how it can help members gain experience and networking. We presented iGEM’s potential for Montgomery’s extracurricular program and explained leadership positions expectations. The leadership applications were distributed and administrative tasks were finalized.
Goals/Tasks for Next Meeting: The team will start organizing biology packets and finding out what we need for true upcoming season. Subteams need to be organized.
Other Notes: Before December 31st, we need to get the registration done and have the registration paid. We need to find information about fundraising/sponsorship.
Friday, 11/22/13
Mission Statement: Implement new attendance sign-in setup; announce participation consent forms (principle consent form); organize subteams
Meeting Overview: We started by electronically taking attendance and introducing the two subteams. All members were allowed to choose their subteams (may cut down R&D later). Talked about fundraising because deadline= December 31st

Ideas: Hot chocolate Snow hat sales Shoprite Bagging Last “introductory” meeting Leadership applications due Wed, 11/27, remind members to fill out consent forms

Goals/Tasks for Next Meeting: Come up with an idea for fundraising.

-Gather all participation consent forms -Finish principle consent form

Other Notes: -If members try to look for sponsors, send iGEM write-up to them

Find sponsors quickly; focus on small companies in Montgomery. Check with supervisor to see whether he has any ideas/grants.

Friday, 12/13/13
Mission Statement: Start team organization and keep progressing with the fundraising/sponsorship efforts. Assemble board 2013/2014.
Meeting Overview: We began the meeting by announcing 2013/2104 officers followed by showing a video about synthetic biology to help members understand the importance of the club. The club will consist of the board as well as two subteams. The board collected emails and planned for fundraising and registration.
Goals/Tasks for Next Meeting: We will start teaching the basics of synthetic biology, organizing the Shoprite bagging fundraiser, creating online accounts for everyone, and cleaning up attendance lists.
Friday, 12/20/13
Mission Statement: Design biological circuit from DNA sequence
Meeting Overview: We received confirmation from Shoprite. The college advisor, Gavin from Purdue University came in to discuss synthetic biology and safety regulations. The R&D team learned how to use micropipettes while the operations discussed fundraiser ideas.
Goals/Tasks for Next Meeting: Shoprite bagging fundraiser.
Friday, 1/17/14
Mission Statement: To learn information and become organized for the future.
Meeting Overview: The meeting began with a presentation on synthetic biology. We discussed cutting down the R&D team, introduced plasmids and gene cloning, and explained the operations team structure. We also researched wiki websites.
Goals/Tasks for Next Meeting: There were two goals: we went over the lab procedure for the pGLO lab and we established a bank account for Montgomery iGEM.
Other Notes: We created a curriculum for the next few weeks, began discussing T-shirt designs and organized a board meeting at the Princeton Public Library on Sunday, 1/19/14.
Friday, 1/24/14
Mission Statement: Teach members about pGLO Lab.
Meeting Overview: We explained how the iGEM google drive folders work and showed a bacterial transformation video. We ran a Q&A session. Each member had to demonstrate knowledge of the steps of the pGLO lab.
Goals/Tasks for Next Meeting: We will understand the process of bacterial transformation and introduce laboratory techniques
Other Notes: T-shirt design should be done by Feb 14th
