Several kits will be provided to the iGEM 2014 High School teams:

3A Assembly kit

This kit will allow the team to get hands-on practice and experience performing 3-Antibiotic ("3A") Assembly.

The [http://partsregistry.org/Help/3A_Assembly_Kit 3A Assembly kit] will be sent on a rolling basis beginning in January, when a team fulfills all the registration requirements and is approved by iGEM Headquarters.

Note: You will need the following enzymes for this activity:

  • EcoRI
  • XbaI
  • SpeI
  • PstI


Transformation Efficiency kit

This kit will allow the team to test the efficiency of its competent cells.

The [http://parts.igem.org/Help:Transformation_Efficiency_Kit Transformation Efficiency kit] will be sent to teams on a rolling basis beginning in January, when a team fulfills all the registration requirements and is approved by iGEM Headquarters. The Transformation Efficiency kit will be sent inside the 3A Assembly kit.


DNA Distribution kit

The [http://parts.igem.org/Help:2014HS_DNA_Distribution DNA distribution kit] contains parts from the [http://partsregistry.org/Main_Page Registry of Standard Biological Parts] which you can use in your project! If your project requires parts not contained in the DNA Distribution kit, you can [http://parts.igem.org/Help:Requesting_Parts request it] anytime during the competition season.

The DNA Distribution kit will be sent to all approved iGEM High School teams in February.
