This is a template page. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
You are provided with this team page template with which to start the iGEM season. You may choose to personalize it to fit your team but keep the same "look." Or you may choose to take your team wiki to a different level and design your own wiki. You can find some examples HERE.
You MUST have the following information on your wiki:
  • a team description
  • project description
  • safety information (did your team take a safety training course? were you supervised in the lab?)
  • team attribution (who did what part of your project?)
You may also wish to add other page such as:
  • lab notebook
  • sponsor information
  • other information
REMEMBER, keep all of your pages within your teams namespace.
Example: 2013hs.igem.org/Team:WalthamHS_BioHawks/Our_Pets

You can write a background of your team here. Give us a background of your team, the members, etc. Or tell us more about something of your choosing.

Team

The Waltham BioHawks are a group of dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic students bonding through their love of science. The members of our team come from a diverse background and have a multitude of interests. The BioHawks reside in Waltham, a city that is known for its Watch Factory and historic mills. The BioHawks are in a variety of grades, and although the group consists of mainly AP students, there are a few younger members who share the same passion.

Project

Our project is a stain remover that will include a bacteria that can degrade a range of stains through enzymes. After many days of discussion, we finally concluded that this would be the best option for a first time team. By using a constitutive promoter, the BioHawks will create a bacteria with the ability to make enzymes that break down specific proteins within the staining substance, efficiently removing all traces.

Notebook

Our team has done a lot of research prior to assembling the bacteria itself. Using various articles and writings, we were able to get a better idea of what we would be working with. Here are some of our findings:

Results/Conclusions

What did you achieve over the course of your semester?

Safety

What safety precautions did your team take? Did you take a safety training course? Were you supervised at all times in the lab?

Attributions

Who worked on what?

Human Practices

Our stain remover project can assist the community by providing a natural solution to everyday stains. Although the stain remover business is a multi million dollar industry, people are always looking for new, cheaper, and more efficient ways to remove stains. Many members of the group participate in sports that often cause stains, and would benefit from a new stain removing bacteria.

Fun!

What was your favorite team snack?? Have a picture of your team mascot?
