Project

Our project here at Summit Shasta iGem team, is to alter bacteria to force them to detect Carbon Monoxide. Once they have detected the Carbon monoxide, we want them to release red florescent protein, which makes the bacteria red, and easy to notice.

Read up here!

Notebook

We would meet after school every Tuesday and Thursday then went to work on our assigned tasks over the week and report back.

Results/Conclusions

Over the course of the semester we have practiced with bacteria in making transformations and such.

Safety

In the lab we were always supervised by Chris Vulpe (Professor at UC Berkeley), and Nicholas Kapp (Professor at Skyline College).

Although we rarely had lab coats.

Human Practices

What impact does/will your project have on the public?

The impact of this project would include a way to save power. Because the outcome would be organic there would be no need for it to run on batteries or gasoline.

Fun!

To have fun we poked fun at Will. To be frank his jokes are pretty bad. Who drops a terminator joke in the middle of a brainstorming session? Will McEachen of course, it wasn't even that good in the first place. Aslan Nguyen on the other hand is the genius of the group and is able to crack amazing jokes!
