Several kits will be provided to the iGEM 2014 High School teams:

Transformation efficiency early January - Rolling basis (see below)
DNA Distribution kit late January / early February

3A Assembly kit

This kit will allow the team to get hands-on practice and experience performing 3-Antibiotic ("3A") Assembly.

The 3A Assembly kit will be sent on a rolling basis beginning in January, when a team fulfills all the registration requirements and is approved by iGEM Headquarters.

Note: You will need the following enzymes for this activity:

  • EcoRI
  • XbaI
  • SpeI
  • PstI


Transformation Efficiency kit

This kit will allow the team to test the efficiency of its competent cells.

The Transformation Efficiency kit will be sent to teams on a rolling basis beginning in January, when a team fulfills all the registration requirements and is approved by iGEM Headquarters. The Transformation Efficiency kit will be sent inside the 3A Assembly kit.


DNA Distribution kit

The DNA distribution kit contains parts from the Registry of Standard Biological Parts which you can use in your project! If your project requires parts not contained in the DNA Distribution kit, you can request it anytime during the competition season.

The DNA Distribution kit will be sent to all approved iGEM High School teams in February.
