In September last year, 2013 Shenzhen_SFLS iGEMers held a teach-in to introduce iGEM to us in order to attrack us to join in. Then our instructor Boxiang Wang and Advisor Shuang Zhu started to give us class on synthetic biology once a week since November. Approximately 60 people in total take part in this class voluntarily. After systematic learning classes, 8 in total, we have mastered the basic knowledge in molecular biology. In December 2013, we conducted a selection and picked out 16 elite to compose Shenzhen_SFLS team. Origins
Shenzhen_SFLS is an energetic iGEM high school team which represents Shenzhen Foreign Languages High School [1], located in Shenzhen, China. Our school has taken part in last year iGEM HS division. Shenzhen_SFLS is two years old in 2014. However, students are different from last year ones. Besides 3 students from 2013 Shenzhen_SFLS, we've also got 18 new members. Spirits of carrying on scientific research with great passion and rigorous scholarship has been inherited generations by generations.
